spring fever is in the air...

it's that time of the year again...the smell of spring is in the air. this cartoon reminds me so much of my little murph...so often i find her laying in a patch of sun beaming through the window with the hope that she too is laying on the white sand beaches of pass-a-grill, florida! like mother like daughter...it's so refreshing these days to step out in the yard (carefully avoiding myriad landmines) and see the buds coming on the trees and little baby grasses peeking up from the ground...spring is just around the corner. the one thing i do like about spring is that it's a sign of new beginnings - fresh starts... although there are times when new beginning are hard, somehow in the spring it seems so much easier...such a welcome relief...it puts a smile on your face...and refreshs the soul...so, today with it's beautiful sunshine coming through the window or if you have the opprtunity to go out and enjoy the rays...think of today as a new beginning...no matter how small...embrace whatever that new beginning is and enjoy! [or take a nap...]

intersection of compton and chouteau now...

this is the intersection where the new gate district monument will go; as you can see the teepee has seen better days. the teepee went up i do believe in the 30's or 40's and it was to represent something about the three corners of the city...the artist who designed the structure was from st. louis but not the gate district. i will continue to look for some more information about this structure, so check back in the days to come...

worker dead at desk for five days...

From the New York Times: Bosses of a publishing firm are trying to work out why no one noticed that one of their employees had been sitting dead at his desk for five days before anyone asked if he was feeling okay. George Turklebaum, 51, who had been employed as a proof-reader at a New York firm for 30 years, had a heart attack in the open-plan office he shared with 23 other workers. He quietly passed away on Monday, but nobody noticed until Saturday morning when an office cleaner asked why he was working during the weekend. His boss, Elliot Wachiaski, said: "George was always the first guy in each morning and the last to leave at night, so no one found it unusual that he was in the same position all that time and didn't say anything. He was always absorbed in his work and kept much to himself." A post mortem examination revealed that he had been dead for five days after suffering a coronary. George was proofreading manuscripts of medical textbooks when he died. You may want to give your c0-workers a nudge occasionally. The moral of the story: Don't work too hard. Nobody notices anyway.

To my co-workers, freinds, and family: If I have not moved: to get a cup of coffee, use the restroom, change my clothes or share some witty unrelated story...these are signs that I am dead! so, please call the coroner and let the dogs out.

paparazzi hit again…

wouldn’t you know it…katie and I were out for a nice evening on the town and sure enough from the back seat…cameras start flashing…paparazzi hit again! that’s right…we can’t go anywhere without the paparazzi finding us. i will say though, it did not spoil our time together. we had a great time…dinner conversation was less than desirable but the smile was great! I talked, I laughed, I cried…what more could a girl ask for?

but, there’s one thing…katie is a lot thinner then I thought…I mean, if she turns sideways you can’t see her…!
