Notes on a Scandal

Notes on a Scandal is adapted from the novel by Zoe Heller. Sheba Hart (Cate Blanchett) joins St. George’s as the new art Teacher. Barbara Covelt (Judi Dench) senses in Sheba a kindred spirit. But Barbara is not the only one drawn to her. Sheba begins an illicit affair and Barbara becomes the keeper of her secret. Notes on a Scandal is a story of loneliness, loyalty, envy and love. I have to say, I truly enjoyed this film with all its intensity. And, I agree, “If you don't already worship at the Church of Judi Dench, Notes on a Scandal may be the film that causes your conversion”. But for me, I must say…it does make me step back and beware of those Brits who write in journals…AFG!
